Life is a journey. One full of many peaks and valleys. Love is an extension of one’s true essence. Does your spirit draw others to you or does it push them away? When approaching the mid-life, is one still capable of basking in the essence of love? “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is a film that examines the emotional connection that breeds love.
Emma Thompson stars as retired widow Nancy Stokes. Stokes is hoping to enjoy a night of pleasure. This while on a journey of self-discovery. Nancy’s married life has been unfulfilling. That’s until she hires a good-looking young sex worker named Leo Grande.
This film is one many people will enjoy. Connection is a stimulant and often sought after. Finding a connection is better than love. Love as an emotion can be temporary, but a true connection may last life times. Overall, I enjoyed this film. It provoked thought and inquisition within myself. Something I think it will do for others.
